THE BAYVIEW ROOM IS COMPLETED

We completed our new "Bayview" room, which is a sunroom, last June. Our guests have enjoyed sitting in the comfortable chairs while sipping their morning coffee and watching the lobster boats in the bay. We now serve breakfast in both the dining room and in the Bayview room, which has five large sliding glass windows that provide beautiful views of the water and allow fresh ocean breezes to circulate.

Our guests have also enjoyed sitting in front of the Vermont style stove with a glass of wine or one of Larry's homemade desserts while viewing a spectacular sunset over Linekin Bay. Guests can read brochures of area attractions and magazines as they relax in this bright and airy room.

The Linekin Loft Now Has a Water View

We recently completed our latest construction project. Our friend and a wonderful carpenter, Jim Roberge, built an oak stairway from The Linekin Loft to the attic. The attic has been transformed into a loft room with a spectacular water view highlighted by a custom floor to ceiling window. This room is furnished with two comfortable overstuffed chairs and a Vermont style stove for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful water view. At the other end is a love seat that can be converted into a twin-sized bed. This room features white B-board walls and ceiling and wide pine board floor.

In the NEWS

Several publications and guidebooks have had positive information about our B&B. One of our guests, who is a freelance writer for The Boston Globe, wrote an article about visiting the Boothbay area during the quiet season. Her travel section article was very kind to us and generated a number of inquiries and reservations.

Portland magazine did an article about being married along the coast of Maine. Linekin Bay B&B was noted as "having the nicest bridal suite in the Boothbay Region." We were also notified by Yankee Magazine that we have been chosen as one of their preferred inns.

We've also been fortunate to be listed in several guide books: Lonely Planet-New England, Waterside Escapes In The Northeast, Maine-An Explorer's Guide, and The Unofficial Guide to Bed & Breakfasts and Country Inns.

Romantic Getaway Package

Again this year we are proud to announce our "Romantic Getaway Package." This special, which runs from March until the end of April 2002, includes a two-night stay at our B&B. A bottle of sparkling cider and crackers and cheese greet you when you check into your room. Next it's decision time as you have the choice of a $25 gift certificate to our local restaurant, The Carriage House, where you can enjoy a delicious entrée from their varied menu or choose two high-quality embroidered Linekin Bay B&B T-shirts from our E&E Holbrook Store.

If you are in the market for an oil or watercolor painting from one of the area's fine galleries, Corrine McIntyre of Ocean Point Studio/Visions of Maine located on Van Horn Road, is offering our guests 10% off.

The best part of this "Romantic Getaway Package" is the price. We are offering this package at regular off-season room rates. A two night stay in The Holbrook Suite is $220, The Linekin Loft $200, Rhapsody In Blue $190, and Crooked Chimney $180 (plus 7% room & lodging tax). Just remember to request "The Romantic Getaway Package" when you call to book.

FINNY JOINS THE FAMILY

This past July we added a new member to our family. His name is Finnegan and he is an adorable, friendly Sheltie puppy. We got Finny from our good friends in Belfast, Maine, who are breeders and from whom we got Cubby and Goldie.

Finny has been "The Perfect Puppy." Don't we sound just like proud parents? He has been quite a hit with our guests and has taken on the role of greeter at the B&B. Many mornings there is a knock at the door and someone asking, "Can Finny come out to play before breakfast?" Our only concern is that someday Finny will be in a guest's suitcase as they are leaving because we hear comments that he would be a great pet!!

Our Shelties: Finny, Goldie & Cubby

CELEBRITY SHELTIES MAKE THE NEWS

Finny, Goldie, & Cubby are the talk of the Boothbay Region after getting their picture in The Boothbay Register. The accompanying article tells how The Linekin Bay Bed & Breakfast, owned by Larry Brown and Marti Booth, donated a bench for the Linekin Preserve in East Boothbay across the street from our B&B. The bench overlooks the Damariscotta River and will provide a resting spot for tired hikers or those who wish to sit and admire the view. The article states that Larry, who is a dedicated steward volunteer for the land trust, said the gift of the bench is just a way of paying back the land trust for all the enjoyment people get from the Boothbay Region Land Trust properties. Many of our guests hike Linekin and other land trust preserves.
